Alarm remote or transmitter

This is the issue I'm having.
Maybe once a week when I'm putting my car alarm on or off the remote doesn't work and I changed the battery a few times thinking that it might be the issue but I don't think so.
Can someone here give me some advice on what could it be? Before I take it to the dealer and we know all that want is money.
I have a remote start control or transmitter if that helps.
