I'm actually kind of scared now. what's the vert going to run 35-36k for a 1ss and yikes about 40 if not 40 before options for a 2SS? I expected it to be 30ish but 34k for a 2SS is up there.
The market they are aiming for majority of the buyers are going to look at price then performance. and well even with the standard equipment on the base v-6 we won't out sell mustang. "oh I can buy a base GT and buy 3-5k in mods for it and be able to slaughter your SS camaro. blah blah blah" mark my words that will be said many of times. Unless ford has a price increase on their mustangs due to their refresh. I'm just afraid this will mean the camaro will not sell well. I prey I'm wrong. I need to hear what the 2SS+RS manual convert will cost me. before I decide what I'm honestly going to do. |

Go ahead, shop around! You'll come up with nothing close! These prices are STELLAR! Anyone that thinks these are high is nuts... you just can't get a better car for less! I wasn't sure before now, but after seeing these prices I'm in for a 2SS/RS in black (or blue if they release it)... I'll probably pay $35 on the lot for it and it'll be a steal! This one's for you Bob Lutz! Your my hero once again! ~LSx

I'm still having a hard time digesting these numbers. The GM trainer told me the numbers were going to be much higher than this last time I spoke with him.

there are college grad discounts and military discounts that will help a little bit. but the prices are about 3k higher than i was expecting. looks like i'll be waiting until late 2009 or mid 2010. maybe if we make a poll voicing our concerns like the blue camaro thread we can get gm to reconsider.

While I don't like these prices and wish that a 2SS/RS would be cheaper, it's still cheaper then an '09 Mustang GT Premium and '09 Challenger R/T at $35,380. Here's the prices I was given for these 2 cars with similar options .
2009 Mustang GT Premium - $35,445 2009 Challenger R/T J Package - $36,155 |

I am with Boxmonkey on this. I am waiting for the vert but it does seem like the 2SS RS will break 40K. God help us when they add 4-5K for the vert..
As for other cars not touching the price for the Camaro offerings, well, there are going to be a ton of auto manufacturers offering incentives over the next couple years in order to move cars in this crap economy. This is going to make for some tough competition for the Camaro. I will wait to see what happens at this point..

You guys crying about the prices being too high are nuts. People have been telling you all along a loaded 2SS/RS was gonna be $35K and a base SS would be $30K. Official pricing is VERY close.
Brembos, 400+HP, HID Halos, heated leather seats, 20s!! I think pricing is right in line. Remember this is also MSRP. I've never paid MSRP on any car I've bought EVER and I've bought a few. Oh and here's what I posted way back on 8/22 at 11am: I was very close as well. Last edited by Speedy1975; 10-13-2008 at 11:02 AM. |

Why do I not see L99 pricing? What does an automatic cost?

Being an Oregon resident there is no sales tax and only $35 for two year tags.

Well as far as Canadian pricing goes for us canadian guys, the base Camaro Ss in the states is the same price as the Base Challenger RT 30,995, And currently the Challenger RT is priced at 34,995 Canadian so I exspect the base SS to priced about the same! Assuming Im correct you can exspect to see a base Black Camaro SS M6 in my driveway this spring!!!
