It's cold this morning...

You know what... I believe 19°F is cold in anybody's book! Wind chill is 6°F here right now (DFW, TX)!

Oh, and now I know what everyone is talking about with how dodgy the summer tires are in cold weather like this!
Made for an interesting drive to work. No snow, no ice, just darned cold!

That is awesome! Love snow! I can say that cause I don't get much down here in Louisiana.

I drove my DD "Beater" this morning and apparently the guy that had it before me didn't know the meaning of the word "Maintenance" I changed all the fluids (power steering, oil, differential, transmission and coolant) when I got it, changed the oil filter, air filter and fuel filters. It has always taken alot longer for the heater to warm up than my 2010 Camaro does, but this morning the heater kept switching from blowing hot air, then cold. I figured the coolant was low, but when I got to work ( I am the IT Director for a chain of automotive repair shops ) I checked the coolant level and the level was fine.

I used a temperature gun to check the temperature of both of the heater hoses (inlet & outlet) and the outlet temperature wasn't even 100 degrees. I pulled both of the heater hoses off and back flushed the heater core and you should have seen all of the $hit that came out (looked like stop leak). I put back on both of the hoses and topped off the coolant and did a pressure test to see if there were any leak (none found) and now the heater works like a champ (160 degrees out of the vents).

This is just a reminder to make sure you change all of your fluids in your car and for God's sake, do not use Stop Leak in your cooling system, just find and fix the problem correctly.

That's ALL !!
