L99 really a good performer ?
I want the L99 but want to be sure I'll like the performance. After the oil change and fuse pull, are you glad you got the automatic ?

I haven't changed the oil yet, never did the fuse pull and it's plenty fast, glues you to the seat. Maybe mine never went into low octane table but I have been able to easily smoke the tires, in fact getting a good 0-60 time is hard with traction control off as I routinely smoke the tires for far too long. Car only has 800 miles on it so perhaps they changed something with the octane table selection, hard to tell. But as for performance yes, very happy with it.
Now having said all that, I am getting a supercharger and long tubes/exhaust done and would have done that had I gone stick as well. Just comes down to what you want as far as stick or auto, don't worry about the power difference they are negligable. 1/4 times and 0-60 are very close between stick/auto, and keep 91 or 93 in it and you will be fine. |

Ive done neither yet only got 200 miles and I love it. I think youll be very pleased unless there is some serious cars in your past driving history.

been driving for over 40 years, my first car was a Camaro, always drove high performance vehicles, you just get tired of shifting a manual sometimes, don't have any manuals now, the L99 has more power than you need as long as you never have 87 octane fuel in tank, probably losses 20 HP is good guess, with fuse pull, yes my dealer put in 87 octane, and after oil change at 2500 miles, my question is where can you use all the HP? I drive as fast as I can safely, keep V1 plugged in all the time. You should have over 330 rear wheel HP, none of my other cars had over 300 gross HP, Camaro is MUCH faster than G35 Coupe I had, just don't expect good MPG.

It's freakin' awesome. I've driven it harder than I ever have any other vehicle, and I don't even feel I've touched its limits yet.

I love mine. Never had the low power others have talk about. If I take traction control off, it smokes the tires (without power braking). I have to be careful getting on the highway on ramps, if I nail it, I can hit 105mph before getting on the highway.

Mine's great! It's hard NOT to bark the tires just pulling out. It'll smoke 'em whenever I want to. LOADS of power, crazy acceleration, great handling, and of course you can't beat the look!

Then again I don't think mine would be classified a L99 after all the changes..... |

I love my L99. I just got it back from Livernois Motorsports and all I can say is WOW!
I also love the 6 speed tap shifting more so than the 6 speed manual and the driveability is great! |

No fuse pull here or oil change, I just hit 196 miles, I love my automatic, the tap shift is awesome and these Camaros are absoluteley fast.

I love mine. Only complaint I have is the AFM. I had to tune it out after the headers. I think the L99 is every bit as fast as an LS3 with a tune. I just did 12.75 in the 1/4 mile with street tires and no mods to the engine.
