In hptuners i think there is a way to log fuel pump pressure demand and actual fuel pump pressure. Along with normal rail fuel pressure. Ill check it out tonight.

Not the other way around but it is a trend I see every day, Build the car first then worry about the fuel system after you run out of money LOL.

When I originally had FI added to the car, figured the dual-fuel and four-digit injectors would be enough.....

Running out of fuel = power limit (hitting the wall).

Go big, real big. Thought I over-engineered the original system. Enough is never enough. Listen to the man ^^^.

Thanks! I'm sure others will also like to see data.

It will still be a centri style unit.
I'm at 755 rwhp with that exact same setup, but I'm also running meth. I'm with Ted on this though. I wouldn't try pushing it any more just running pump gas.

This is what it looks like with (red line is Injector Duty Cycle, light-blue line is Fuel Pressure). [moving from left to right was the increase in RPMs, and you can see where gear shifts occurred]

Awesome, thanks for sharing what an example of running out of pump actually looks like. Was there a corresponding drop in fuel pump voltage?

No drop in voltage. This was with a BAP and upping the voltage a bit when in boost. On a differing note, I have been able to lower the Injector Duty Cycle and keep the Fuel Pressure higher by making adjustments to the tune (proper airflow and fueling) - total voodoo science/art there.

Actually, if you haven't modified your stock SS FPCM, you will always demand 48psi at upper rpms.

Now if you have modified the SS fpcm, or have a ZL1 fpm, then you'd be commanding 58psi at all times.

I was referring to another HPT channel you can log. i forget which it is, but I thought is was Fuel Pump Duty Cycle. That should tell you if its working at 100% and not putting out the desired fuel pressure.

The short block is stock, btw.

I understand the advantages of E85. It would cost me around $2000+ to upgrade my fuel system to support the flow I would need for E85. I never said I was going to attempt to make 850whp on this blower. If I were to upgrade to a larger blower, I would probably be pushing the stock shortblock beyond my comfort limits, before aggressively tuning it with E85.... But it seems, even on 93 my setup will fall short.

That is true, if I were upgrading my fuel system, might as well.

If you log this channel, and it reports 100% Fuel pump DC, while your commanded Fuel pressure is dropping below requested, I think its safe to say, you are out of fuel pump.

I dont know my hp but went 9.6@145mph on a zl1 pump, bap, modified fpcm and id850's. But also spraying a aem 1000cc meth nozzle. Fuel pressure doesn't drop through the 1/4 but injector duty cycle is getting up there.
