Just curious about getting a specialty plate. Is there a "best time" to get one? Like right before you renew your tag or etc? Never got one so I dont know if it matters or like I said doing it right before you renew your tag (which I do in October).
About the ordering your Specialty plate ,they charge you from now to Oct. and then full price in Oct or give you the option to pay the part to Oct now and Oct.. For next year . And you have to wait 6-8 weeks

Hopefully I will be dropping it off at a shop this week so I can get it back!
Sorry about your Camaro but welcome to the neighborhood.

Kinda right, or it might seem that way. The registration you paid for the car is good for either 1 or 2 years, depending on if you paid for 1 or 2. You will not pay that portion just because you're getting a new plate so it really doesn't matter when in the year you get the plate. That said, it isn't just $15 to get a new tag like I thought.

Here's what I paid, roughly:

$15 - personalization fee
$5 - entry fee for the personalized plate program
$25 - FSU program fee (I have the FSU plate. If you have a specialty plate, that extra fee WILL be charged on the new plate all over again, even if you just renewed your old one.)
$35 - new plate fee (because they're stamping you a new one, same as if you somehow lost your current one)
$3 - county fee
$2.50 - mail fee

Total: 85.50

That total was awfully close to my yearly renewal amount so I questioned them on it until they went over the cost breakdown.

Don't delay, order today!

Thanks for the help. Just didnt want to pay now and then again. So i'll think about it. i think the total was like 85~. But definitely NOT getting an FSU plate

Spay and Neuter tag. But not getting any personalization. Less somebody can remember about my car, the better. That is, if someone wants to be a jerk.

It is a big change in humidity from NM to FL. Navarre is probably better than ABQ, but ABQ IS better than Alamogordo, where we came from!

Well, not exactly...you can't ALWAYS visit the Trinity site...it is only open to the public 2 days a year. We did make it on one of the days it was open to the public. Not much to see as much of it was destroyed. There is a small original house with photos and info though.
But, yes...lots and lots of white sandy beach...just don't die trying to find the water!

If it works out like I think it will, I will probably head up tomorrow to my dad's place in Cincinnati and then over to Rodgers on Friday, stay a day with pops Saturday, and back Sunday so I can relax for the 4th. I wasn't expecting this to happen so quickly and I've been dragging my feet a little so there's still some parts I want to take off the old car today (side markers, CAI, etc.) in case somebody eventually wants them later and they're easy to remove.

That and asking for Thursday off will be bad enough. The mission around here lately was to use as many contract hours as possible before the new fiscal starts 7/1 and I'm already one of the worst at doing that, let alone leaving a few more on the table for tomorrow.

Oh well. It's Camaro time! Just waiting on the call from Becky.
