Rear gear change

I am researching into a rear end upgrade and am looking for feedback on a question about gear choice.

Some history, 1st to 2nd grind when shifting quick even after a trans rebuild and upgrades to the hydraulic system for a dual disc clutch. This really affects ET by slow shifting.
I have 610 rwhp and struggle getting a good 60 foot on drag radials and think the posi is bad which is why I'm upgrading.

My question is, if I go to 4.10 gears and launch in 2nd it eliminates the 1 to 2 slow shift resulting in one less shift. Stock 1st gear max speed is 51. 4.10 gears and 2nd gear max speed is 62.

Has anyone tried 2nd gear launching on a manual?

It's going to put a lot more wear on your clutch.
