Technology upgrade

Ok, so I am putting together a shopping list and would like some opinions. I am getting rid of stock stereo and adding rear and forward view cameras.

So, i'm definitely getting the Kenwood DDX9705S and the new maestro install kit along with the RR (still waiting for reviews).

So here is where I am having issues, choosing good but not too expensive cameras. Anyone have experience with aftermarket cameras? Not too expensive, hoping to keep the camera budget under $75 each.

Also, placement of the front camera. Anyone have picture of where they placed their's?

Doesn't maestro not make a data link kit for our cars? Or are you talking about their dash bezel?

I use a front camera with a separate dash mounted LCD screen. I mounted the camera directly under my license plate. The camera itself is a cheap high resolution camera off Amazon. Has been working great for about 6 months or so now.

Just wish there was a way to install a new head unit without changing the bezel. The PAC kit is OK but I like the OEM bezel more and wish there was a way to make it work with aftermarket head units.

Up until now, the maestro RR only provided basic functionality which was only SW controls and bluetooth I believe, now along with the new dash bezel they released a full software suite for the RR that supports all vehicle features as well as HVAC controls in the HU, OBDII interface so you can read and clear codes and vehicle info such as tire pressure monitors, gauges, etc... But that all depends of course on the HU supporting the same features.

Personally i have the PAC unit, and while I like the oem-ish look, I'd prefer this additional functionality more. Once i'm done with some more go-fast stuff, i may explore this dash kit and sell my pac to someone else

Ok, so the DDX9705s is on order, will be picking it up from best buy on Saturday (they match crutchfield price and I got points). I have 2 camera's picked out, on amazon. They are most definitely chinese made, but they have good reviews, not about to spend $150+ for a camera.

Now as far as the idatalink dash kit goes, I am waiting for fivestar to make the install video but am getting restless. I know that it does not include an antenna adapter, and their animated video on youtube states to use the Metra 40EU10.

The problem is that the 40EU10, according to Metra site, is not for the camaro, but the 40EU55 is, because the 40EU10 is not amplified and the 40EU55 is amplified. Asking ADS, they are not sure which one I need.

So, to the camaro community, that ave done radio swaps, do I need an amplified antenna adapter or no? If yes, does it get wired to the blue amplifier turn on wire?
