PTM PROBLEMS

When I double tap the traction control button, no matter what mode I select the display shows traction and stability control are off. They are not off. They still intervene. I tried disconnecting the battery for several hours… no difference. Also in the HUD, my shift lights are MIA. All this was working fine then just all of a sudden started having problems.

To dissangage traction and stability completly you will have to press and hold the tc button aprox 7 seconds. In PTM mode (double tapp) traction and esp will always be active.

Thanks. I had no idea those were shift lights.

I understand perfectly how the system works. I understand all the modes. I understand how to disable stability and traction control. What I’m saying is when I double tap the traction control button, again, quickly with in 5 seconds. 1st tap the traction control disabled light illuminates. When I press it again( again within in 5 secs) the the Stability disabled light illuminates. The PTM menu is shown in the DIC window. I can select any of the 5 programs but:
A: it doesn’t change the suspension
B: traction control and Stability are NOT disabled even though the lights are on.
C: I can press and hold traction control for 7 seconds and the lights are still on and the system IS disabled like it’s suppose to be.
D. Launch control does not work either.

When you are in the PTM modes the traction and stability control are not supposed to be off.

Take a look at this screenshot from the owners manual. I think it might help explain the modes.

I believe the only way to have it completely off it to hold the button down for 7 seconds.

Hopefully this helps.

I guess I’m the only one with this problem and no one has any idea how to fix it. Very frustrating. I would love the PTM to work correctly.

If you're certain your battery is good, and that you are operating the buttons correctly, I would check grounds, wiring, connections and the module.
