I wonder if thats what they are doing here. Im sorry, but I just dont think its fun to throw the ball straight up 9 every week. If this is a typical pattern for them, I wont be doing fall there. Im all for working on weakness', but playing that line bores the shit out of me week after week.

2014/2015 league meeting tomorrow night. Seems earlier every year. And I hear there is already a looming bruhaha over the calculation of handicap...sigh.

We start next week. We are going back to our original house. I did acclimate to the bowling alley we did summer league in, but throwing real slow up the 5 board just isnt fun for me. I ended last year at 218avg. Im shooting for 222 this year.

Bowler summer and ended that season on a big slide. Dropped about 10 pins on my average down to 190.
Yesterday was the first of our next one and finally put up a good line and we won all points. 210-210-194-216. So something I can be happy about finally lol. One of the guys we bowled against, who's damn good, told me I could average 230 if I'd fix my chicken wing arm. Something I've never really paid attention to as I can't watch myself bowl. Now I'm curious as to how I can fix this. He said when I'm coming down to release with my hand and arm off to the side of the ball and not directly behind it, if that makes sense. So it makes my arm stick out too.

I am prone to it myself, and I have been relatively successful at minimizing the occurrence by keeping my forearm facing down my target line and rotating my hand/fingers around the ball from 6 o'clock to 3 o'clock with my wrist. Occasionally I screw-up and rotate early which gets my hand turned too much before the release point so then my elbow flies out - classic chicken-wing - then my thumb won't clear cleanly and and the ball heads left from the get-go...

During my pre-shot thinking, I also imagine my swing plane passing close to my slide foot, and my body staying "behind" the ball at the release point. It seems to help me keep my forearm steady. Regardless, I sometimes push off early which sets me up to "chase" the ball (early timing) and the result is often what I described above.

Well, a few chicken-wings cost me a 700, thank you .

213-233-215. Not a bad start. Lanes changed a lot during the night. Had to adjust angle and speed a few times. Although the team only took one, I left with more money than I went in with. Hopefully we'll get our shit together for next week...

225, 197, 191, 613. Having bowled all summer on those shit lanes, I have to get my arm back in shape since speed is now required! And simple things like moving left before the shot calls for it! That summer house really jacked me up. A straight shot straight up 5 board all 3 games! No longer and issue here!

A LOT of chicken-wings tonight. My timing was just awful most of the night - can't explain how lost I was. I just don't get how sometimes it's as though I never bowled before. I did grind-out a 224 in game three so I could break 500. Pathetic...

Ya, its always just when you think you have shit figured out, that the next week you come back to barely break 500! Nothing pisses me off more...

178, 209, 225, 612. Rough night. Was having a mental block about putting the ball out with speed on it. That was a no-no at the other house I bowled at so Im still adjusting. It'll come along....

Our lanes have been a little speed sensitive too - though in the opposite direction. I've been needing to take a little off so the ball reads the lane a bit sooner. Was able to put up a 210-213-200 tonight even though my timing is off and I'm pulling the ball frequently. I had the same problem at this time last year - probably because I take summers off. My team finally had a winning night, so that's good.

204,254,199,657. Ball was coming in beautifully. Didnt have one bad shot all night. Had numerous pocket 8s, 9s, and 3 pocket 7-10s. WTF?? lol!

Roller coaster ride tonight: 257, 157, 198. Had to start moving left from the get-go to find some hold area. Completely lost in game two thru about the third frame in game three. Another losing night for the team, but the pot game I won in game one took the edge off...
