the undriftable muscle car :(

i never had a camaro and this is my first time I will get a V8.i've always liked the camaro and I think it uncomparable to the mustang or challenger so I decided to go with 2SS this time but few days ago I read something that was really heartbreaking for me and made me question my choice with the camaro. Why the heck can't you drift the car?why would the airbags blow out while drifting?isn't this the coolest feature of RWD cars?then why prevent it?
now I really need your help camaro owners.is there any way to avoid airbag deployment?they deploy only when you use the handbrake or just losing traction blows the airbag off?is there a way to disable the curtain side airbags?a wire to cut?what im asking might be childish but im serious if any of you can help me I will really appreciate it otherwise I'll just have to go with the scatpack challenger

It isn't the coolest feature of a RWD car IMO, and I wouldn't call it a feature of RWD. I really don't think drifting was on the list for those developing the Camaro, try toyota FRS or some other car. I'm not a drifter and I don't care to rag out my Camaro to do this type of racing, but i don't think the airbags will deploy unless you hit something.

Just get it and drift to your heart's content....If the e-brake is a concern, I'm sure there will be aftermarket items or a way around it so you can drift.

The whole air-bag deployment thing is over-blown and very rare occurrence...

You can bet that many in the Turbo-4 crowd will be drifting like never before...

Get the V-8 and drift all you can or want....

I've been surprised when I saw the whole thing video.because the middle East's drift champion favorite car for drifting is the zl1 but on the other side GM said it could happen to anyone.and about the electronic E brake I've tryed it before and it reacts super fast and its very fun drifting it but this airbag thing is really anoying me.lets just hope its a one time accident and never happen again in the 6gen

Never heard of the air bag deploying during drifting, first for me. Like someone said unless you hit something you will be fine

I've gone side ways plenty of times, no air bag deployment. Never heard of that occurring either.

Did you use the hand brake or just spin the tires for losing traction? Because the incident happend after using hand brake

I think if you have to use the handbrake to drift, you have the wrong car...

No one has a 2016 yet so how do we know they have early airbag deployment issues?

Well it happened when the guy pulled the hand brake for sliding tge car's back end so the only thing we can do is hoping that GM fix this problem in the six gen

It happened more than 1 time with the 5th gen so there is a big chance that it might be carried in the 6gen too

I've already got an asian RWD car.i want to upgrade from v6 to V8 not downgrade to a 4cyl toyota 86.besides the mustang isn't really light weighted but its one of the best drifting cars so why not camaro?it weights almost the same, more power, better suspension and TRACK READY.its a perfect car for all sort of driving
