470 hp Gen V 6.2L v8 in Z/28....??

Cheers and Gears has listed the proposed 2014 Cadillac ATS engine lineup and the 6.2L direct injected v8 with independent variable intake and exhaust valves rated @ 470 hp for the ATS-V. Could this engine be the next Z/28 engined Camaro to possible make the lineup since GM has already started with upgrading its engine plant for the 5th gen. v8's and we all know it does not take 3 years to install factory equipment and perfect the build quality at these plants in my opinion. For the guy's who prefer a naturally aspirated v8 for the Z/28 this could be your engine. Just food for thought, not saying it's true or fact. What do you guy's think?

I think it would be cool if the Z comes as a track car, and this other hp car is a strip beast.

I could see this engine replacing the ls3 much like the ls3 replaced the vette ls2 in 08. This would insure that we stay ahead of the 5.0

The list is nothing more than a fantasy dreamed up by a bored enthusiast.

I think the purists in the community who think that a Z/28 deserves to be all natural track performer would probably regard the upcoming supercharged Camaro as the GT500 fighter.

Your probably right about this info, but we will probably see some kind of up tick in hp for the Camaro in the future maybe not the SS but hopefully an additional model for the lineup.

I think the Z/28 will have will weigh 1500 pounds, 1000 hp from the factory, get 5000 mpg in the city, and a 45.0 g on the skipid... We all can imagine whatever we want

If they weren't putting a FI engine in the car, the only other logical choice would be the LS7...which also isn't happening. :(

That car isn't due out for a year after we expect our Z28...and the model with the V8 isn't due for supposedly a year or so after that.

About the only reliable info in that article is that there will be a Cadillac ATS at some point in the not too distant future. Beyond that, your guess is as good as theirs.
