So today a D-bag backed into my parked 2010
Any advice about exactly what I should claim on his insurance.
I want to make sure that I am compensated for diminution of value, in addition to getting repairs. I will probably need an entire new front facia. I imagine the insurance company is not going to want to paint the entire car, but I want to make sure that the paint matches bow to stern. What do I need to do to make sure that they make me whole again? ( Pix below )

Good luck with that. I highly doubt they will paint the whole car. I also don't think you will receive anything towards diminished value. I know in your mind your Camaro is the end all but to the insurance company its just another car.

I very seriously don't believe the insurance will pay for the whole car being repainted. Hopefully you have the other knuckle head insurance info. Repairing the front fascia is really no big deal as long that's all the damage. It be back as new once it's done. Sorry about the accident it sucks when your baby is damaged.

You'll get replacement cost for original factory bumper and paint match. His insurance will likely send out an adjuster who will determine the amount they will compensate you for. There's no "pain and suffering," so to speak.

Just make sure you take it to a body shop that does great work. Shop around and ask other car guys where they go. I never trust the insurance adjuster.

A good body shop can match the paint. If just the facia no big deal, Check out Gary's ZL1 bumper thread. No complaints of color match. Most owners can install facia at home if that is all you need. I did complete ZL1 front end after hitting dear and didn't have to spend much more than insurance covered.

He must not have been much of a D-bag if he left you insurance info. Shit happens man, let the insurance fix it and go on your merry way, that's why people have insurance.
They certainly won't paint the whole car, but any body shop worth their salt can paint match it very closely. Trying to get the whole car painted is likely going to make you realize you never should have had it done since it likely won't be up to par with the factory paint.

chill out, shit happens. I doubt they did it on purpose. it's why we call it an accident. anyhow, no way they paint your entire car, and it would be stupid to anyway. industry standard is 18" from damage for blending. and any decent bodyshop that computer matches paint is more than capable of matching it. and good luck with diminished value too.
