Intro - Low Camaro inventory?

Hello folks,

Thank you for letting me in.

I've been very interested in getting a Camaro as my next car and I am seriously considering options while I do my homework. I've been looking at dealership inventory and I've noticed that there is real low inventory, at least what they show online, so options are very limited. The most I can find is 5 or 6 per dealer across all the trims, 2020 LT3 are nowhere to be found. Any idea why?
I haven't called yet any dealership as I like to call in when I know exactly what I want, to avoid the normal runaround but it seems odd unless they don't have all their physical inventory posted online.

Thank you in advance!

PS: Hope this is the right place to ask.

that is odd.just checked my favorite dealer in plant city and they have no SS camaros but 5-6 1 LTs.usually they have 3-4 ZL-1s and 10-15 SS along with 1 and 2LT models.maybe theres a supply hiccup on the higher optioned cars.

Yep here is the same, hard to find any at all. Biggest Chevy dealer in area has none. Another one farther down the line only has 1 v6 model Camaro. I wanted to look at the LT1 stripper model. Dealer told me only way is to order one and wait.

Dealerships will keep their inventories low on slow sellers to keep their costs in control. A car that doesn't sell well or sell slow, that sits in inventory means that a dealer could potentially lose money. Dealers will either search for the car that you want, or order a new version of the car that you want.

If you are looking for a used car and you have a model or a coice of options that you desire, you may need to consider looking for this car from dealers that are not close to you. You may also need to consider doing a nationwide search if you are still not finding the right car.

Good luck.

Why don't you order the car from a local dealer.

My dealer is too small to keep any Camaros in inventory, and was happy to order me one exactly the way I wanted it.

BTW, since you ae looking for a 2020, why not go to the Camaro6 page?

our local dealer has 5 or 6 1LTs but no SS cars which is abnormal for them in 2019 ive seen at least 6 ZL1s go through there.

Question, are you only looking for a 2020?

Thank you all!!

I am looking to lease, so 2020/2019 are fine. Is there a big change from one to the other?

As for ordering, I would like to first see it in person, drive it and confirm that is the way I want to go before ordering one.

Have you searched for 2019s? Dealers around here have many still, even a few brand new 2018s.

My local dealer about 4-5 years ago used to keep a ton of Camaro's on the lot. Everything from the ZL1 down to the base models. Now they're down to keeping at most maybe 5 on the lot at any given time. Most of the time it's just the LT models. My salesman told me that the new ones just aren't moving like the previous design did for various reasons.

This doesn't surprise me, frankly. Hopefully GM sits up and takes notice.
