Thats the main reason i love living in Oregon it is illegal to drive while talking on your phone unless its hands free and they strictly enforce it with a $500 fine mandatory i still see the occasional one here and there. Sorry that happened to your baby but like others have said glad you are ok

Really? You're talking to a group of people who are here for one reason and that is for a "car"! You're talking about people who spend a considerable amount of time and in some cases money, on a "car"! To many of us here, this is more then just a "car",it's their "baby" or "pride and joy"! To many of us this is more then a hobby, it's a way of life! So what's the big deal if she calls it here "baby"? To the OP i'm very sorry to see your baby in such bad shape and I hope it gets fixed soon. I am also glad to see you're okay!

Wow, sorry to hear that. Just make sure on your insurance report you don't write "I hit her" as you did in this forum. Say she hit you. Hope they can get the car repaired in time for you trip.

Susan -

Most importantly - you were not seriously hurt in this accident.

I understand your heartbreak as some of us see these wonderful machines as 'more than just a car' --

What I DO know: "Spirit" is a tough Camaro - and will be 'good as new' soon.

If your body shop is a dealership -- ask them to put a rush on the parts - and open a 'SPAC' case if anything's on backorder......and hopefully Spirit will be back together and we'll see you in Oshawa!

Meanwhile - a message to everyone:

Please don't talk on your cell and attempt to drive at the same time. Study after study proves that the distraction of doing so is worse than a couple of drinks.

ohoh - I feel a 'rant' coming on.....

For some reason, the world existed just fine without cellphones in the car (or on the plane -- or in restaurants) for eons.........so unless you're negotiating a nuclear war - nothing is that important that you can't either pull over (driving) wait 'til you get off the plane (flying) or you're done with dinner -

And -- as a politeness pointer: if you ARE in a restaurant - have some class and get up and walk outside to finish the conversation.............

You have some good self control, I would have probably killed her.

I wonder if you can go after her for being on the phone?

Im sorry but NO EXCUSE THESE DAYS FOR PEOPLE ON PHONES! BLUETOOTH HEADSETS ARE CHEAP NOW, GO #$%ING BUY ONE INSTEAD OF RISKING SOMEONE ELSES CAR!

Ugh that shit makes me so mad! I feel bad for you!

I hope it gets fixed up all right :/

Well put Scott! I feel for you Susan and I to get really P.O'd. when someone pulls out in front of me talking on the cell. Thank the GM gods for making this car very quick to respond to defensive driving. Jewel and I have dodge a few distracted drivers these past 2 years.

You're lucky she got cited! If she had claimed innocence you might have got cited for hitting from behind!
