UPDATE**** Pics on page 2

So a little background....

I helped my girlfriend get a nice used 06 CTS last year from a friend of hers that's a salesman. We get a good deal on the car and they don't screw her on the trade in. I tell the guy that I'll order my Camaro from him whenever I get ready.

Fast forward to April of this year...

I call up the salesman and tell him I wanna order a new Camaro and that I'm not paying over MSRP. He says ok. I come down to the dealership and tell the guy what I want = 2SS RS CGM 6M Sunroof.

Fast forward exactly 3 months to today...

Dealer calls me and tells me the car is in...I'm completely stoked! I look at my phone...it's 12:30. The other pharmacist/owner of the pharmacy doesn't come back for another 30 minutes! DAMN! He finally comes back and I ask if I can extend my lunch and get my car. He says no problem. EXCELLENT!

I drive to the dealership, sit in the car, drive it. This is the first time I've ever driven a new Camaro and it is the most badass vehicle! We sit down and he gives me a piece of paper saying this is what we are giving you for trade and here is the price of the Camaro = $39,900.

It's $3000 more than the sticker and I'm like... WTF is THIS!! I immediately just say, NO! I'm not paying a cent above MSRP. This is what we agreed on 3 months ago. If I don't get it at sticker, I'm taking my truck and $2500 deposit and I'm going to "such and such" dealer and placing an order at MSRP.

The General Sales Manager comes in and starts acting like he knows everything about the Camaro and that they are selling at 5-10K above sticker everywhere. I wait for him to shut up and let him know that I know more than him. Then comes back and tries to ask if I would pay a thousand over but I cut him off before he even gets the word out of his mouth.

The General Manager comes in and asks me what me salesman told me. I told him that we set the deal at sticker and he says ok. He told me that every other Camaro that has come in to their dealership has gone for at least 3K over but said that I will get it at sticker since that's what me and the salesman agreed to when I ordered it.

I thought there for a few minutes that I would have to go to another dealership to order another Camaro but I finally got my car and it's everything I thought it could be and more!

First off I wanna thank all you guys and gals here at Camaro5. You all made the process of waiting easy and you have filled my head with so much Camaro knowledge it's spewing out. Thanks to all you guys checking Order Numbers and and VINs and letting us know where we stand with our cars! This is the first Camaro I have ever owned and the first sports car I have owned. So this is a pretty memorable day for me!

Kudos for "sticking to your guns"

and not caving in about the price...that must have been REALLY HARD to do, as I'm sure you thought that you might just be walking away WITHOUT your Camaro.......:(

Get driving and be sure to share your photos as soon as you can........have a great weekend...I wonder what you'll be doing???...LOL...

My dealership has had 10 camaros and not one over MSRP including mine.

Your post makes everything we do here worthwhile! Congrats and I urge anyone else who is in similar situations to stick up for yourself - you are the customer, not them!

Did you not have any paper work, like an autobook copy saying how much you and the sale man agreed to. I got an autobook printout which lists everything I ordered plus a basic lay out of window stickers prices with no adjustment on MSRP. I hope my dealer doesnlt try some bull like that I am taking my glock 27 with me and I'm so frustrated that if I get to see my car and there is any funny business I am flying out the door with the car and not a penny in their hand, haha, jk. I better get my fair treatment, I put money down for ordering/reserving the car and the price, not to mention the excrutiating wait I dealt with.
