I know . I'm anticipating some really good results so I can add and delete some things in my sig. But....when I handed the car off to them last, I told them that there was no rush on getting it back to me. Once I get it back, it's going from there to the garage, getting coil overs and waiting until the roads are cleaned up. Then they went and worked on the C7.

Nothing yet. The holidays kinda pushed it back plus we just had a big snowstorm so I'm sure they took a day off to be home. It should be going to the dyno this week. Last I talked to them, they were working on putting everything back together.

Just got off the phone with the guys at ECS and I report that there is a SNAFU. Turns out that the heads I bought cause a piston-to-valve clearance issue. To fix that problem the pistons are going to be cut to make everything work. The problem came about because the came has a larger lift then the stock, and when I purchased these heads, the cam wasn't accounted for. So, the cutter has been order and is on back order until the 10th. Just a waiting game now.

Boo is not the quoted I was looking for, but here's an interesting update. Doing a head swap was a big failure. Because of the larger cam I have, there's not enough P/V clearance. EDS has offered the services of fly cutting the piston to make the clearance, however my belief is that if you do something like that you're compromising the piston. My back is against the wall because I already sold the old heads and they were shipped. So the only other option is to upgrade. It is time for a New bottom end and I will be selling my old one which is in perfect condition.

Why not just swap a cam that would work?

Unfortunately there's not much else I can say, I wish there was. Yes we can change cam, but the heads were going on to raise power so going to a smaller cam seemed counter productive.

We are speaking with PRC today since we did not spec or purchase these heads, we can only say what the PTV is once they were installed, and it's not enough unfortunately.

We will have this squared away one way or the other.

Be glad you took it to a place like ECS that actually checked. Many shops would just bolted them on and assumed everything was fine.

No doubt. I don't look at this as a bad thing, I think of this as a way to justify a new purchase, plus we can use the YSi to it's full potential.
