Gas prices are the more reason diesel will soon be the accepted in the country. I hear a Fisher Yoke Arm diesel just got 124 MPG in testing in the US not Europe and this engine could be produced within the next three years in a production vehicle with the expectancy of providing over 75 MPG. Current test in FYA and manufacturers willingness to work with the aftermarket tuners are seeing some vehicles now coming with double stacking and triple stacking tunes from the factory. I can see why FYA technology is not suitable for performance I can see where the idea will lead to something more feasible for the performance guidance needed in gasoline.

Regardless of our supply, reserves and regardless of what refineries are running, we are in a global market. Oil cost the same $ amount per barrel regardless of where it originated. Weather it's pumped out of the ground in North America, Middle East, North Sea or Venezuela, the prices are the same.

The sooner everyone learns to understand that the better off we will be. Until we develop a true alternative means of powering our vehicles we going to have to get used to this new normal. It's never going down again folks.

This is the price of owning a high performance machine. I can't intelligently complain that premium is over $4.00. I don't have to like paying that much but complaining about it is beyond pointless guys. Buy a Cruze deisel if you're unhappy about gas prices.

Are you forgetting about state sales tax? It may be included in the price but it still gets paid.

Premium has been ~$4 in southern Cali for a long time now. That by itself is okay... But then I remember the real gas I could buy in mn... 93 octane without ethanol.

Filled up on Thursday at Mobil 93 OCTANE $4.55 a gallon. We in the US are fortunate that gas prices are relatively inexpensive compared to other places.

and local taxes. many places now use those to fund light rail and other things. a lot of people don't realize this, but the oil company actually makes less off a gallon of gas than anyone else. they make their huge profits off volume, and the hundreds of other products made from petroleum. If the oil companies were to swear off profits and operate as a charity, the price of a gallon of gas would go down about 10 cents or less.
