I bought some Bogart wheels, you know the full set of four custom 17" ones that'll accept the skinnies up front and the drag slicks in the rear. Well, they arrived when I was out with the boyz; the wife found the invoice. Shortly after I got home, I realized that I was gonna' be double teamed. I heard the mother-in-law's broom pull up in the driveway. She bitch slapped me in front of my bro's. The only way left for me was to raise the PIMP hand and chase the old mummy outa' the house.

The wife is still giving me the icy eye. I hope it thaws soon. I already told her that I was sorry. There ARE hidden costs when it comes to owning such an ooh soo fine car!:(

Be careful, oh my brothers...
THAT'S THE PROBLEM WHEN ONE LIVES VERY CLOSE TO A DRAG TRACK

1st -- The mother in law has no place in this . period
2nd-- The manager [CFO] needs to balance the budget
3td---The RD [Research and Development] must have a budget for the year with the approval of the Board and with in 30 [thirty days prior the fiscal year .
4--- For every moneys that is spent on R&D more than X amount there will be need a special approve from the CFO ,just to keep tabs and costs under control
5---FOR every money saved on something already on the budget [R&D] there will be an incentive to save at least 50% off that amount to a fund [emergency] fund
6-- I AM NOT JOKING , i could go on for a few more days but that will be of no good
GOOD LUCK with your dealing with the CFO / CEO and one more thing , ASK THE IN LAW TO STAY OUT OF YOU GUYS LIFE

i dont see a problem with seperate accounts......you have your own accounts and a "house" account.....x amount gets deposited in the house account every month the rest is yours....my wife and i have done this for 8 years and never once had a fight about money.

My wife has an understanding........ I earn the money, the bills get taken care of and after that..... It's mine to do what I want with.

what are you going to do then?
I kind of hope she finds out soon so I can stop feeling guilty. Mike mayrland said, it will be easier to ask for forgiveness than it would have been for permission.

If you don't love your wife enough to trust her and share things with her, then why in the hell did you marry her..? Every married couple I know that has "his money" and "her money" never seem to be truly happy with each other. This is just an observation of mine on a limited number of couples, but they all have one thing in common....they don't spend much time with each other.

I can understand one person "handling" the finances, but that's it. Rule of thumb.....If you have to hide it from her, you probably shouldn't be doing in the first place.

My wife told me to get the car. She knew I was upset after having to sell my 55 chevy, so when able to get another she was ok with it.
However maybe since I was willing to sell the car to keep a roof over our heads helped the matter.
or maybe because shes truly one of the good ones.
either way, i dont bitch when she buys an outfit or shoes, and she dosent bitch when I buy something for the car....
works out nicely.

I totally agree. I couldn't imagine having to consult hubby for everything over $100 that's just too much to keep up with. We have our own money and I'm putting a lot of money into modding my car. I consult him just because I want his opinion on certain products but his position is, and this is what he tells me, that's your car and your money do what you do.

People just need to do what works for them. There is no blue print on how it will work for each couple. The most important thing is to love and respect your spouse and the rest will take care of itself.
