I made 458rwhp at 6500 rpm... what was your torque? How much HP was your underdrive pulley worth?

That being said, what type of gains could be seen from a G6X3 cam? What about the 231/236? Curious what people have to say...
428rwtq underdrive pully was only a few hp nothing major...

i think the only way a bigger cam will work with milled heads is to fly cut the pistons, if not your valves will hit the pistons

Yeah with heads cut .030" you need to flycut to maintain sufficent PTV with our 231/236 camshaft.

briancb1: UD pulleys are worth about 8 RWHP consistenly on the dyno. Not a bad gain for $200 IMO.

I am running the G6X3 in my car (and it's a daily driver). Low speed driveability is definitly affected. Under 2000rpm there is noticeable bucking. After driving the with the cam for a while now (and kinda relearning how to drive the car) it does not seem nearly as bad, but when it first got installed, I was really concerned about the way it drove.

As a side note I am running the LG cam with the TSP springs so I'm sure my entire valvetrain will explode in protest!

I'm running a Comp cam 231/247 617/624 113LSA w/ 3200 stall

Very smooth on take off... No bucking or surging at all... but it does shake, rattle and roll while sitting at stop lights...

I highly recommend you go to 4.10's, I have no bucking or surging under 2000 rpms once warmed up. The off the line response is wicked and mileage was not effected much.

Not bad at all considering all the guys shelling out $150 for ported TBs with almost no HP gain.

Thats kind of what I was thinking. HP per $ on them isn't bad at all!

I gained 92 on Cam, Heads and UD Pully. So I'd guess at least 60...

Here's the thread with a list of some other nice choices..

Flycut the intake? Flycut the exhaust? Both? If so how much?

I'm sold on the UDP!
