Which Spark Plug???

Looking for some advice, I was talking to a local shop about a dyno tune and they said I should change my plugs. I don't have it in front of me but I seem to remember them saying NGK TR6? (but I could be wrong on that)

Anyway, my mods are just CAI, longtubes w/ off road connectors and NPP, no cats, no resonator. Do I need to change the plugs from what came in the car?

Thanks,

Cady

you're fine with the stock ones. Once you go boosted you'll need colder plugs

I have TR6 spark plugs...mesh pretty good with my supercharger

They are a cheap replacement, I would recommend changing them if you are high mileage already. I changed mines out at 85,000 I think. I operate under the mentallity of changing things out ahead of time before something happens.

When you go boosted, switch to non projected tip plugs. BR6EF for moderate boost.

At your power level and quite a bit further than you are, stock plugs are perfectly fine. You won't gain anything by going with different ones, other than possible issues. If you go FI or nitrous, you'll want to look into colder plugs.

Thanks guys, I have no further plans at this time and my plugs only have 18,000 on them so they are going to stay in.
