I tried to burnish the rubber and it did make it less noticeable, but I can still see the scratches in the rubber.

Is it possible to flip the tire around on the rim (inner sidewall now facing outside) without having to rebalance the whole wheel again? I'm thinking that if tire shop marks where the tire is in relation to the rim, they can flip the tire around and I won't have to rebalance the wheel.

Thoughts?
Since there seems to be more trolls than not in this thread post, I will chime in with some factual information to help you out.

Any time you remove a tire from a wheel, it would have to be checked on the balancer. In some cases you get luck and, your wheel requires no weight because its in perfect balance already.

Flipping a tire, if not direction can be done. However, the inside tread pattern and sidewall writing will not match your other three wheels. Usually, the inside sidewall writing is not very cool looking because most manufactures expect it to be on the inside.

Theres one exception to the balancing rule. If you remove the tire make a mark with the valve stem (or you could make the tire with the rim) you can replace the tire back onto the wheel in the same spot, thus requiring no balancing as the tire should have been balanced before hand. This is not an easy thing to do and as I see you are not going to do this yourself.

And before anyone yells at me for doing that. It is not a usual practice. However, I do it in a crunch such as, when my I am waiting for the Snap-On guy to come recalibrate my balancer and I need to patch a tire.

Good-luck OP. Ignore all the ignorant, sarcastic people on here. F**king losers.

I don't think anyone has mentioned that many of these tires have assymmetrical tread. My tires are marked "This Side Out".

Not all the tires available for these vehicles are gonna be asymmetrical, so it is a valid question.

Yes, he should definitely recapture the air. We are running out of it. It is a premium now.

Well of course you have to rebalance, plus make sure your tire is neither directional not asymmetrical.

Directional: tire must rotate in the indicated direction.

Asymmetrical: tire has an inside and an outside.

Some tires are asymmetrical but NOT directional. Example: P-Zero summer tire on SS can be switched from side to side without remounting.

Some tires are directional but symmetrical (no inside or outside) like the BF Goodrich Comp-2 tires I just put on my SS. Thee is no difference between right side and left side tires, but tire must be remounted when switching sides.

Some tires are directional AND asymmetrical.
