My buddy had his 08 corvette with paddles tuned in M mode to shift at redline everytime. It was tuned 2-300 rpms before redline to shift accounting the delay so it actually shifted at redline everygear. Now if you just shifted into m mode it was set to do this but if you touch the paddles it is manual until you shift out of m mode and back into it to reset the redline shifting. So his was nice you just shifted to m mode and raced knowing you would get redline shifting everygear and not even have to touch the paddles unless you just wanted to play with them!!
