720 rwhp, but disappointed

Car build is finally done. 408 ci fully forged with lsa blower seems to be maxed out at 15 lbs. of boost. We put a 28% overdrive pulley (lower) and 2.5 upper along with E85 and the car puts down 718hp and 772 max torque. Car seams to want more air. On stock pulley without E85 it put down 641hp and 652 torque at 5900 rpm, now its max hp is at 5700 rpm with the upgrades. Tuner thinks the blower is maxed out. Just wondering our guys thoughts

That sounds about right. I have 376, LSA blower, 2.5 upper, 9.5 lower, gt9 cam, meth, 15 lbs boost and make 740/730.

port that thing. Synergy motorsports does a lot of LSA port jobs, real high quality jobs. That might be the extra flow it needs.

seriously, a forged 408 with a centri or twins would be insane.

I'd like to get the 102tb but too many issues.portig the snout will give some solid gains.

I'm not sure the cost to port the Lsa blower but with the set up you have built I believe you will be disappointed, some articles I have read they had marginal gain to where others have gained 50 hp, you could gain more than that but imo you built that motor to probably make a heck if a lot more

I thought about porting but between that and the 102 mm tb. I think I am just going to a big 3.3 whipple or 4.3 Ken bell this winter. The cam is a stage 2 bmr blower cam. Any gains with porting will be somewhat minimal. The Motor is an 8:3:1 compression ratio it was built for boost and lots of it.

Solid numbers but if your not happy I'd up the compression at least a full point.
The motor might respond well to a bigger intake and tb.

Yea, 8.3-1 compression with a 1.9 LSA blower is going to give you too low of a max. Now if you had a blower or turbos that could throw plenty of air like 22-24 psi at it, then great.

I'll be expecting your call monday

Tough situation on those low CR postons. LSX block would be the only way to take advantage of the 30+psi those pistons are good for. Given that you are on E85, I would have built that around 10.5. Way more efficient. I'd bite the bullet and change them.

So I will give it some thought. The Motor supposedly is built to handle up to 1350 rwhp without any issue, I have all the other supporting mods built to handle 1200hp. Decisions/decisions. I will talk to the builder but not sure about piaton swap but may be the cheapest option
