Yeah that's normal, you have no vacuum in the intake until it warms up. In the old days you had to use a choke to "choke" off the airflow a bit and force more fuel in the engine to get it running. Then they came up with automatic chokes, now we have direct fuel injection but the same conditions exist in a cold engine. Once it warms up and the compression comes up in the cylinders it will have the vacuum "pull" necessary to pull the correct air/fuel mixture into the cylinders.

Don't push the car until it warms up; if it's been sitting over night all the oils and fluids drained down to the bottom of the engine, trans, differential. Go easy on it until it warms up and fluids get pumped up and circulate over the engine/trans/diff components.

If they are threating or hurt full then that's another matter but the comments you are talking about here in this thread are far from that.

guess it applies for any car with a some bit of power... my friend used to sit in his s2k until it hit like 3 bars of heat for the temperature gauge... then he would move off...

Well, we have all had cold engines before (it's not like we are talking -20 degress), and these symptoms seem to be unique to this installation. If it does not do it in a Corvette, why the Camaro then? I thought my car might be a fluke, but it is not looking like it is.

Anybody been to the dealer about it?

Mine does the same thing, just could be the way they programmed it. i dont see a problem. My saturn aura does the same thing. Vehicles are going to run differently when cold.
