I never did a baseline pull before any mods ;/..... So I have no idea what I started out with in the first place...

I'm taking it by my friends house after work and he's going to drive it. He drove it before it had any mods at all... and then he's going to let me drive his LT1 Camaro heads/cam/bolt ons car... it made like 370/360 to see if I notice a difference.

On a side note, my tuner informed me they just got all new updates for their dyno whatever that entails maybe their dynojet is more stingy than others.

I don't care what the numbers say but if it doesn't feel like a 460/420hp car than, I guess it is what it is.. I'll drop it on another dyno some time or another.

Another local turner said it made 30more Hp than it should have and the cam shouldn't make any torque....??? and he screamed it was all in the heads... yea heads are an upgrade but m6 ls3 heads flow pretty damn good...

Pretty rudimentary basic dyno not showing AFR etc and with data smoothing that does cut down the peak numbers slightly and does not show all the peaks that alive running car makes. Dynos will vary on the operators and their performance and corrections made have to be right with consideration of information fed to it by a little remote weather station and colder days make more power from the density of the air and they can try to adjust for it, but it does not work out perfectly always and some just run a dyno without its being that comparable to others frankly, some make adjustments to try to simulate being a load bearing dyno. It could be a combination of a lot of things why the numbers there are low.... That TSP cam is numbers a lot like the " specs of the night fury" and that was a common 480 hp 445 tq for dynos average with headers and CAI and a tune. I hope you had the torque management kicked to the curb; to not interfere as its a power robber most change in a tune.....

I'll be more worry about not being able to feel the difference with a cam.

Have you driven a cammed Gen5 to know what it should feel like? I remember when I finally got to drive my car after it was tuned with the cam and while it felt like it had some more power, I won't say it was like hopping into a spaceship in anyway. It felt stronger and I could more so tell the tq difference being thrown back. I had gained around 70hp and 35tq. This is a heavy car so that will impact the way the power difference feels.

The best way I can think of what the difference feels like currently would be when I first added nitrous. I did a 75 shot just to see how it worked. I couldn't really tell ish when it hit. Yeah it sounded a little better and the rpm went by slightly quicker but 75hp difference didn't wow me. It took going to a 175 shot to get the kick I was expecting.

For someone adding power mods it would be best to have other cars you've raced against prior or drag strip times to compare and see what the difference really made.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I will throw this out there.

A few days prior to my car going in for the cam install my "service stabilitrak" light came on, along with all of the other lights, sometimes it goes off and you can hear a thump thump coming from around the ABS module, and you can feel the surge in the break pedal. But I don't personally think it's effecting the performance of the car "I could also be wrong".... My friend with the LT1 heads/cams/bolt on's says it feels like my car pulls really hard.. he also said it's a heavy car so the power doesn't feel as violent, its very smooth.

I find comments about not feeling much in the way of gaining 75hp to be odd. I felt a definite difference when I added headers and that was only 20-30 hp....

Go to the track and see what your car traps. Mine when it had long tubes no cats and vararam on e85 only made 414whp but would trap 94-95 in the 1/8. Trap speed will tell you what its really doing

Agree, trap speed usually will tell you if the tune/car is running well.

Same here I was somewhat dissapointed in the numbers. always reading 480-490 cam bolt on, yet my final numbers were 467/430 SAE corrected. I Haven't been to the track to check trap speed though

I use to get into my feelings when everyone was making 490+ with heads and night fury cams. When my car was only making 472 with same setup minus night fury (TickPerformance polluter cam)
But when I went to the track and my car was trapping 94mph in a 1/8th I learned a lesson. Dyno number queens and keyboard racers don't win at the dragstrip.

94 is pretty low for cammed car.
