Ok keep in mind new tires have a mold release agent on the outside of the tire to keep them from sticking to the mold. This agent is greasy/slippery, but at 300 miles it should be worn off by now.

I have the Scorpions and have had no problems at all. From day 1 they have handled well on both snow and dry roads. I really can't tell the difference between the Scorpions and the Blizzaks I've had in the past..... both very good.

I picked up my wheel and tire package from the Tire Rack... Pirelli Scorpions ( 245/50-19) on Rial Nogaro wheels... and I couldn't be more pleased. Ride and dry handling have been great and are much better than I expected. They have also shown good traction in what little snow we've had.

will the Scorpions fit well on the stock LS rims? On TieeRack it suggests going to a 17" wheel because it supposedly handles bit better since the wheel is smaller than stock idk. But have you all gone smaller or you done stock size wheels? Im not buying new rims just going to have these mounted on my stock ones but curious about size.

Yes you can get Scorpions to fit the OE rims. Give me a call if I can assist.

I swear mine took a good 800 miles before I didn't feel like the car was skiddish... 500 were on the highway, so maybe that slowed the wear?

but now I've got goat like ice traction. I drove to the store last night and drove "normally" for the winter and I get out of my car and start slipping all over. the parking lot, my driveway and I suppose some of the roads had turned to ice. I was then glad I had the blizzaks because when I backed into my driveway, I had a tiny bit of wheel slippage when my front wheels were being pulled up the curb, but I got it in. If I had summer tires or maybe even all seasons on that sheet of ice, I'd have gone nowhere!

You never know when you might need to go 100 MPH on a dry winter day--in an emergency only of course.

I went with the 20" factory sizes 245 and 275. So far, so good in the snow.
Are the 275 rear Scorpions the Run Flats?
I went to order at Tire Rack and the suggestion (I wanted the original factory size) was the 245 front and 275 run flats on the rear.
Pirelli did not have regular tires in 275

Thumbs up

We just concluded a nightmarish evening rush hour of “thunderSnow” in the DC metro area. Common drives were 5+ hour drives that typically take 1 hour. Fortunately, my drive was a mere 3 hours (normally 25 minutes). Over 30 years in the area, I’ve never seen this type of ultra fast & heavy dump of snow.

I bought the Scorpions at Rudy’s suggestion because in this area we normally don’t get more than 1 or 2 snow falls a season, so dry pavement driving would be the norm.

My experience this week was all I could have hoped and demonstrated I made the right decision (expensive as it was) to purchasing snow tires from Rudy & Tire Rack.

I’m sure the driver of the yellow Camaro I saw stuck in the snow was rethinking his decision, as were the other many hundreds of drivers that either had to be recovered or just abandoned their vehicles.
