It looks like they just cut the mufflers off and replaced with a piece of exhaust tubing. It would be easy to reinstall a set of stock mufflers. If you can find a used set of stock mufflers and just have the seller cut the tubing just a bit longer a muffler shop will be able to install. Where are you located? I am in the process of long tube headers and 3" exhaust. I could send you mine if you are not to far away.

I would look used if you want NPP you should be able to find a take off cheap.

as for mufflers just pick what ever you like the sound of. I mean with youtube out here now you can listen to any of them.

1. borla
2. cosra
3. magnaflow
4. stainless works
5. billy boat
etc etc

I like to stay stainess myself. If I changes exhausts I think I will try the stainless works retro champered.

Great News! The seller mis-titled his ebay listing and no one bid on it. So I got an NPP exhaust for 500 shipped. So it should be all good. I got a solid deal on the car @ $43k with 17500 miles. but now it's cost me $43500.

That's what we call a solid deal

what problems would be caused if you don't cap the vac line up front with a muffler delete?

When it wasn't capped off, it didn't seem like it did much. The vacuum/boost gauge was still showing vacuum and there weren't any CELs. But I still taped them up til the exhaust came in.

Got it in today and the valves wouldn't open. Pulled the fuse but the flaps were still closed. I found the vacuum solenoid that controls the vacuum lines to the mufflers was stuck. It's probably cause it sucked up some dirt and stuff while it was being driven uncapped.

So I cleaned and gave it a lil tap against the work bench and the solenoid closed. I still left the fuse pulled and it sounds great.

I never though I'd ever say this. But I like the car MUCH more since it's quieter. I guess after hitting my forties, I prefer it muffled.

Makes you wonder how much dirt made it to the engine
