Toll Transponders?

Does the 6G Camaro have any issues with mounting an EZ-Pass transponder inside the windshield? I ask because I know GM had some cars were this was a bit problematic because of built in antennas.

I haven't had any issues with my I-PASS mounted right up top next to the mirror.

I appreciate the update. Looking a bit more I found some information. It looks like GM has had this fixed since 2002 and Ford since 1995. I just ordered my EZ-Pass from NH, so I wont have to pay any more monthly fees to Indiana and deal with their terrible website.

I put my TXTAG just beneath the mirror and stuck the mount for my dash cam to the back of the tag. It still works just fine.

I have a Virginia EZ Pass that works fine, didn't mount it though I share it between two vehicles. Put a non slip pad on the back, and sit it in the center of my dash against the windshield.

Not to derail the thread, but I hear of people that do this and I always wonder why. The Ez Pass transponders are free so why not have one for each car and just leave them?

On-topic - I had one mounted in my car to the right of the mirror. No problems. When my dash-cam was installed, the installer relocated the Ez Pass to the left of the mirror to avoid the camera's power cable. For whatever reason, in that location the transponder wouldn't work 80% of the time. So I moved it back to the right of the mirror and it works perfect again.

They are not free in Ohio, but pretty inexpensive. $25 deposit for each and $0.75 per month for each. We have them in both of our daily drivers

Not a cost issue, just prefer not attaching things to the windshield.

When we lived in the Houston area we had a front license plate mounted transponder for EZ-pass on my wife’s Enclave. It was a bar that mounted on the top of the plate right through the normal plate screws. Out of sight, out of mind.

In Texas, I know people who have gotten dinged for not using a tag in the right car. I think the toll stations have license plate scanners.
