I had always wanted to go the carpc route, but i couldn't imagine the amount of work going into that, let alone the price tag on it

When I saw the first picture, I looked at your avatar to see what you were driving then I looked at the picture again and asked myself "why would you do something like that to your dash?". Then I saw the second picture and was like "that's pretty cool".

I wouldn't say it was too expensive. Obviously the cost for the iPad mini, head unit, and the metro kit was pretty high. But same ball park as if you went with a good double din unit but with more function since you have more use with an iPad. Now the install I wouldn't suggest it if you have any plans of going back to stock since there was a little cutting to where the stock radio mounts. Also it's hard to see the two back gauges. But I had to give a little up to gain a lot more.

How is this working for you. I've noticed that some others had complaintso about the scosche kit. Any problems at all?

I really like the pioneer, the scosche kit is OK. My key fob distance is not very far, maybe 40 feet. No steering wheel controls yet. Iive heard that some people have them. I'm not a huge fan of touchscreen HVAC controls, they're awkward. But it's a summer car and don't mess with them a whole lot. I am not a fan of the style of the metra kit. But the decision was about my radio and I'm very happy with that. I like how the kit and radio looks as a whole.
