Drake...

Did you get a chance to read the writeup by Dragoneye...

He mentioned the magazine writers (how some of them got up immediately after dinner and left rather than taking advantage of the oppurtunity to ask some very high level engineers questions face to face...) and I had reaffirmed to me that you have to take what they say with a grain of salt... Like anyone else, they have their favorites and nothing else compares.

Some of them are objective and write meaningful and informative articles, other look for dirt... It's a crap shoot at best...

It has stopped because they have a problem with a part they are not happy with. They are waiting for the new ones and then they will begin to ship. Not all have the bad part, but they are holding all. They are very tight lipped about what part it is, because if they said it would be all over the internet and then it would be picked apart by everybody. They would have people making mountains out of mole hills. It would be like if they had a stiching problem on the back seats. Everybody when they got their car would be in the back seat looking to make sure it is perfect, and if there was one little thing they would want it replaced. It won't be long and we will have our cars.
And no, I'm not going to give a name.

Well it's mid March and if they were released Monday I don't think I would have it until April

Remember, 30% new parts, means new vendors. And also there is a big difference in making a few real good to get the job and then making thousands at the same quality. I'm just glad GM is not letting it just slide thru.

I think that gm as a general practice should use more plastic protection on their cars before they leave the factory. The built ZL1s are going to be exposed to a bunch of bad environmental crap until they are PDI'd

Awesome! I can't wait to see ZL1 threads like this one. Once we get past this current situation, it will be exciting in a most positive way.

You have a great thread there and the detail and the care in putting it together has to be a sign of the detail and care taken in putting the car together. Well documented! I can imagine what you have of your own for documentation.

Kudos!

Happy Dan,

Just don't talk too much about it around my wife.... lol, she's actually been awesome... At first she was why???... and then was ok, and then she was "cool," and then it was "dammmmnnnnnnn... I like it..." the great thing is she has no desire to drive it, though I've offered... She wouldn't before the build... and certainly wont now... though she loves to ride in it....

Any magazine that snubs the ZL1 are idiots. period. Second, I will not subscribe to any magazine that chooses to do so. period. And I subscribe to a number of magazines.
