rain x? does it work?
Hey guys I havent read anything here about someone using rainx or anything like that on the windshield. they use to have a commercial where they would throw stuff on the windshield and it would take away pretty much everything, while the untreated side the mud/water just stuck. I have a friend that lives by the stuff, but I was wondering what others thought? Is it worth it, is there something else?

Rain-X works great as long as your going over 55 mph, you don't even really need windshield wipers. Even when its pooring down.Just follow the instructions on the bottle, takes about 10min to apply with two applications.

They have a rain - x windshield washer fluid... love that stuff... do not have to apply anything, just use your windshield washer!

Works well. With the gen 4, anything over 25mph---I didn't need my wipers, the rain just beaded off. Used to get crazy looks from people because my wipers were off.

I am not a fan of it, it does leave a film. A few years back I started using it on one of my cars, but the wind shield became almost dependent on it. When I did not use it the wind shield would start to look streaky when I used car window cleaner to clean it. Also, I noticed that the wind shield would fog up easier in damp weather.
Not a fan.

I tried it once. It left a film.
'Stoners' Invisible Glass recently came out with a rain repelling glass cleaner which I like alot. Just clean your windows once a week, and IMO, it works as well as Rain-X, w/o the film. |

I took the wiper motor off of both my 67 camaros and a 67 El Camino. Through snow sleet rain and ice I never once needed wipers.
