Pressure in manual trans

The last few times I checked my trans fluid level there was pressure in the trans when I removed the fill plug, even when the trans is cold! I don't see why it wouldn't have a vent like other transmissions.
Anyway did anyone else notice this? I'm thinking its a clogged vent.
I did have it at the dealer to replace a defective slave cylinder, they replaced the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and slave cylinder (brake fluid everywhere), this was a while a go though. Any help would be much appreciated.

I did find a post from 2010 about the pressure in the trans but no explaination why or if there should be pressure in the tremic TR6060.
Anybody know if this is normal?

What's this pressure doing? Is it causing slave cylinder to go?

So far the presssure hasn't done anything yet, it's not leaking any tranny fluid at all.
The slave cylinder shouldn't have anything to do with this problem since it is external (inside bell housing), I didn't notice if there was pressure in the trans before it was replaced, I'm just hoping the vent wasn't damaged or got clogged in any way when the dealer did the work.
I read a thread that someone else had this problem but the thread only went as far as that, no idea if there is a check valve in the breather that releases pressure if it gets to high or if this is normal?

My T56 in my CTS-V holds pressure. I noticed this as well when I pulled the trans and then cracked it open to drain it.

I wonder if the Tremic TR6060 is the same? I guess it's normal because the vent seems ok, but must hold some pressure for some reason, then again I never seen a manual trans with cooler lines.
Thanks for the info.

Where does your trans temp run?

If fluid boils it gives off gas. In a sealed compartment pressure will rise when gas is released.

I'm not saying that is your issue, but you can eliminate this as an issue by monitoring your trans temp. Could be an issue with the pump too.

Trans temp never goes above 180 degree's on a hot summer day. But I noticed this even in the winter when the trans temp is well below 180 degree's and it still was holding pressure (not extreme). I didn't notice any trans temp problems, and the breather seems ok, but I will keep an eye on it (temp), thanks.
