Chevy can't make small displacement power.

Bs they can too.
They make a 2.2 v6 that weighs 250 pounds and makes 650hp at 12,000rpm using twin turbos and 21 psi of boost.
They also made a 3.5 na v8 that made 675hp at 10,300rpm and weighed 280 pounds both of which were reliable and used by several teams in Indy cars.

Same goes for the cobalt ss, don't remember how many stages there were to the gm performance kits that were available. But I want to say one of them was close to 375hp with nitrous ports predrilled and tapped with plugs in them

+1 We have a few Cobalt SS's here making 330 WHP and 390-420 WTQ with nothing but basic bolt-on's and a tune on 91 octane. The LNF is no joke.

GM also leaves a lot on the table with tuning. with a tune alone, you can add 50+ WHP and about 80 WTQ.

I'd love to pick up an ATS as a daily.

Doesn't Cadillac also have a 400+ HP twin turbo v6?

Yes...rated at 420hp/430TQ at the crank I believe, and like the small turbo 4 cylinder, the LF3 V6 also responds very well to a tune, making around 430 - 450 rwhp and 480- 500 rwtq. Thats a huge gain.

The problem here is, there is no longevity for these type of engines. There is no way of putting the type of warranty on them, that we are accustom to.

Also look what NASCAR is doing with the 358 ci small blocks ... 900bhp n/a engines

Well considering I was arguing my point with exotic car enthusiasts it couldn't be that hard to put a warranty better then most exotics on a motor like that. After all Ferrari only offers a 12month warranty here in america, and McLaren doesn't offer one. Specially knowing SLP and lingenfelter offer warranties on cars they build

My Ion Redline was 270WHP with a tune, blower pulley, and a K&N CAI that gave 0 hp, just shy of 300WHP with a ported exhaust manifold and running E85, and that was the LSJ.

The LSJ is a great engine as well; it's just limited by the (H)eaton s/c. With a turbo swap, they'll make 400 WHP all day long.
