2011 2lt high oil pressure
Hi guys, I'm not sure if I posted this in the right v6 engine section so mods please change it. My friend owns a 2011 2lt and she recently said she has been having high oil pressure(around 70psi.) At first it was fluctuating when she would go up a hill/accelerate but now it's constant. Anybody know what could be causing this?

I have done research into this and it's actually pretty normal. I have a 2013 ls. And I installed the 4 pack gauge cluster. I was suprised because my oil psi is always at 70psi (maxed out) also but I found other threads that say this is normal for the v6 camaros

When cold, the pressure will be pegged, even at idle. When warm, it should drop below 30 at idle and be maybe 40-50 at constant freeway speed, but it'll peg again under load.

Normal.... we have high compression motors.

I agree with all. I installed the 4 pack gauges this winter and freaked out thinking something was wrong when I started the car. I let it run for about a half an hour and it dropped down, but now every time I start it (it's freaking cold here) it pegs out.

Totally normal, took some pictures of it for another thread a couple years ago.
Photos are at idle and warm. Then 41 MPH and warm, lastly 70 MPH and warm.

Can you elaborate on how the compression ratio of an engine affects the required oil pressure?
