I think Lake Grapevine would be perfect. It looks like April 18th looks to be the date people seem most interested in so lets make it for the 18th. Would you guys be interested in Lake Grapevine as being the site? Or some other spot...let me see a show of hands.......also what time would everyone like to meet? This sounds like a good day ahead of us, I am excited!!

What show in Austin? There's a show? What date is this for?

Lake Grapevine is a bit far away for my attendance to be really often, so maybe we could think of an alternate spot that is more central to Dallas.

I've had a Camaro event at night in Highland Park Village before, and the security guy welcomed us because he normally has a boring night with nothing to look at. This was around Christmas 2007 and I advertised it on ls1tech:

A parking lot at Northpark mall could be fun, but I don't know if they would bother us for loitering or not.

Any place on Belt Line in Addison could be fun. Of course, the area is really popular, and parking could be an issue. TGI Fridays holds Gasoline Alley car shows, so they are used to having cars parked there and people loitering.

Other than those places, sort of near me, I can't think of anything at the moment. Parks are always public places, but parking isn't always wonderful. There's a park with a lake/pond connected to Turtle Creek on Lover's Lane near... hmm... can't think of the cross streets, but it's between Hillcrest and Preston. Lots of parking in a single-file row. Great little pond area, I love it there. If you want to throw a football/frisbee or anything else around, it's a pretty darn big park, and good for that.

Nice pics Brangeta...I like the way the lights just shine off of the paint...

I understand where you are coming from though and not wanting to drive to far. Trust me the farthest I have driven is Austin in my Cam....Got alot of love for it too...LOL!!!.....I am waiting on more feedback from everyone on where they want to hold this event. Once we get 1-2 places we will take a vote on it. We better hurry though cause we have what 3 weeks....that will fly by quick....all I need is the place and then we can decipher from there what we will do....good days ahead!

lol the night of that meetup, it was so cold that my camera wouldn't take pictures well. I drove my sister's Z28 there with my mom in her SS a week or so earlier when it was warmer, and was able to get a lot better pictures. These were my two faves:

HP Village is kind of a neat and safe place to meetup. I can't exactly afford to shop there, but there's a Tom Thumb grocery store there I can afford.

Well it is only about 2 hours away from me here in Wichita Falls, not confirming, but is a possibility. Though mine would seem out of place with all the stone chips in my hood. (I keep meaning to get it repainted, but have a few other things I have to work on financially first)

HAHAHA....Nah man this is just a get together for all Cam lovers no matter how old or what condition your cam might be in. I am not getting alot of feedback on if Grapevine lake or another spot might be the place to hold this event. If I do not here anything back it will be executive decision time. We have the date for the 18th of April and with April 1 coming around tommorrow. We just need something in place no later than this weekend. I will post a new thread soon with all the details....but yea once we get this organized we would love to have you come out if you can make it...It's open to the state...

Any determined spot yet? Food, drinks, open area, and no business owners or security messing with us are my only requests. I can get everyone a map, if we want to hit the park area on the south side of Lake Grapevine. I can't think of any good spots in Addison where we could park and chill near the cars. I guess we could do Duke's patio mid-day, or I can use my hook ups at Blackfinn to get reserved parking.....possibly. Let's get the location and time locked down this week.
