ROAD TRIP - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Well, took a road trip up to Michigan this weekend for a wedding. Here's a few observations:

Car needs a lumbar support adjustment for sure.

Gas mileage was decent, 26.9. Filled it back up this morning, got 26.7 on the second tank and I sat in traffic on US 23 for over an hour (to go 40 miles). I did think it would have been higher with a 6. Got 28 mpg with a loaded down GTO when I came across country.

The DIC readout was so far off it was laughable. Said my average speed was 38 mph and I only got 19.6 mpg.

The only other thing was the tire pressure readings were way down. Haven't checked them manually yet (it's cold and the wind is blowing about 25 mph). I'll check when I leave this week.

Over all, the car ran fine, got alot looks and flashed lights from other Camaros.

Can't wait to get it home and give it a good bath!

I'm surprised you didn't get better mpgs. I average about 28 in traffic like that.

Mileage sounds about right if you are doing 70-75 mph.
Glad you had a nice trip to Michigan, just in time for late fall weather! Feels like late Oct/ early Nov out there today.

I would think the v6 would get a bit better then that...my TA gets 27 mpg on long road trips.
