used 2011, purchase advice appreciated!
First time on here and very first post, but last night I almost bought a used 2011 SS, so I think I can officially join this thread. I decided to sleep on it, they want me to come down in a few hours.
1. Specs 2011, used, 9k miles Orange, white stripe, SS, 2 tone leather (tan and black), 6 speed, custom exhaust, chrome wheels. No sunroof. Asking 38k. Talked them down to 34,500k. 12,500 down (first time buyer, good credit but I can see that they wanted some cash). = 72 month $475 with 5.99% financing. What do you guys think? Oh, it is a Mercedes dealership, so they (admittedly) said they do not know much about it. It is in back lot, sitting for 22 days. Oh, here you go: http://mercedes-benz-eldorado-hills-...d-7356389.html Thank you everyone. |

I paid $36,300 OTD for my 2010 2SS/RS M6, Sunroof, Stripes after about discounts. I think $34,500 is high - but if it's what you want and you can afford payment, insurance and gas - go for it..

You could also look around for a better rate. Through AAA, I got a rate of 2.49% for 60 mos.

thank you thus far, I feel welcome to the forums!
To confirm, it is 37500 OTD. Did some more research: 2SS, interior package, RS package, performance exhaust, considered new by insurance (full warranty). USAA would apply the chevy $790 discount. They also provided me a better loan: $390 a month vs dealer's roughly $490 a month. So just by calling insurance, things are feeling better. ALL of this said: I'm gonna wait. I live in apartments. My acura integra has been stolen and broken into 3x. I am really looking for a home and financial advisers suggested I try and seal that deal first before a car (that will greatly depreciate). I'm torn, I've been waiting since 2007 (Transformer's brought us the look) to buy a camaro. At the same time, I can wait some more. I think what is key is that impulse buying is not adhered to. |

It's nice to hear some logical thinking once and a while around here. Go for the house and then the car. The wait will be worth it and maybe the 6th Gen will be out.

New! You are close to invoice on a new 2012.
Get the house done. Or move to rent as house, as if they have hit the Acura like that they will be all over the 2SS. Buying now sounds like it will be a short term high. Get things in order and you will really enjoys a new 2012 later with HUD and better suspension. I talk from experience. Needed a new truck but waited tell they made one like I wanted. By that time my 90 GMC sub was 19 yrs old and had 350,000 miles. You can wait if you want too. Tip: four year note on a car is much better. Just make cuts elsewhere to make the pmt. Never do dealer finacing as they make a bundle on it. Credit union! USAA etc... |

Thank you Stex and others, great advice. I need to get more important things in order, house, family one day, but I will come back to the Camaro! Been waiting since 07. Let's see if the Acura can hold out to 300k.
