trouble getting invoice

my dealer tells me preferred pricing *is* invoice. even though i have invoice prices. how do you guys "get" invoice pricing? just tell the dealer i will only pay X price? i mean is it pretty easy for them to just say "no" and then sell the car to someone else at preferred and make more commission?

Contact BeckyD. She will take care of you, and have the car delivered to that dealership. So when you get it, yell at them INVOICE BABY or something like that.

Works best if you order a car as they have less overhead/floorplan etc cost in a car that will sell the day off truck. Salesman slow to sell at invoice as he has to hassle with you for not much money to him.

Try internet sales at the dealer and know what you want. Make sure they know you are a buyer. IE have financing or cash deal ready. I want this and will pay invoice which is this. No, sorry going to next dealer.

If trying to trade in your car forget it as they just jack with that.

Or call Becky...

i have talked to becky and i have no problems working with her. however, my problem stems from timing as i can't really wait for 2 months for a car to be delivered, so buying off the lot is more preferential to me.

i can get preferred pricing and that is about as low as i can get anyone local to budge.

They can go lower. They probably sense your urgency so they aren't budging.

Buying off the lot is much harder "usually" to get invoice I believe

i really haven't been urgent at all, so i think they just don't want to. of course i'm sure the 2012 models are hot, so they probably just know they can get more if they waited. still seems odd because rejecting an offer for salesman A could just mean salesman B sells the car and makes all the commission.

Go somewhere else. there is a lot of inventory. Go a little farther out.
Don't make an emotional decision stick to your guns. Make sure you have cash and financing or top line credit. They will deal with you.

+1. If you're in a hurry they won't deal with you because they don't have as much of a need to. Plus, you'll have better luck with a 2011 as they're trying to get rid of these. If you wanted a 2012 you'd probably have to wait longer.
