Very important to understand that powertrains aren't 'plug and play' -

You can't just grab and engine or a transmission or an axle and put it into the powertrain - there are all kinds of algorithms -- from throttle control to ABS to traction control.....etc.etc.etc.
I would say leave the suspension as is. A SS with a ZL1's suspension should be fun. Unless of course you decide to make it even better. Though a set of adjustable performance shocks and struts would definitely be interesting and a cheaper option than a mag-ride setup.

I say build it. But if I may state my wish. I would love to see a Camaro that has the jay leno Camaro appearance with a V8 with around let's say 472hp I don't believe it would take all that much to bump the ls3 to that hp. This could be the boss 302 and SRT392 competition while the ZL1 takes care of the GT500 and SS takes care of the GT and R/T.

As I wrote in the other thread:

Build the 1LE, but fit it in a slot like the Grand Sport is for Corvette. Save the Z/28 for the Z06 like spot.

Take what the 1LE concept as is, add a dry sump oil system and 3:73 gears and you're all set!! Offer a competition option for those that want it with Michelin Pilot Cup tires (maybe rear seat delete too), similar to what you can order on the Z06 & ZR1.

If I had the cash...

I'd want the 2SS options with the mag ride suspension and a bump in HP. I know that's like asking for a ZL1 minus the supercharger, but that's very similar. Maybe a 1SS bump in HP with mag ride?

but if they do that than the ZL1 would need a boost in hp to otherwise the Z28 will be almost the same as the ZL1 unless you want the Z28 to be more powerfull than the ZL1 but than the ZR1 corvette needs a increase just to stay out on top with the hp. although that would be awesome if it played out like this cause than everything gets uped in HP and we all win Unless this isnt what you were stating or going with than nvm what i said in this post haha

1ss with modded exhaust optional cut outs. Maybe standard CAI then add everything from option 1.

fbodfather...what about the GMPP LS3/525 crate engine? Is that still a viable LS3 variation with the existing powertrain? If so I think that would be very attractive along with everything else that was already listed.

SEG, anything from the GMPP catalog that does NOT have an RPO is NOT a "production-ready" engine. And, as in the case of an LS7, it may only be valid (at this moment) in a particular vehicle (LS7 = Vette-only).

So, for a limited run (Gen-5 only has 3 Model Years ['13-'14-'15] left, as we speak) for a limited time period, going to ALL that effort and expense is a remote possibility...and gets more remote with each passing month...

Yes! It will sell. It will slow the aftermarket down a little, but that will be GM's gain. This will fill in the pricepoint and performance void between the SS and the ZL1.

I only ask one thing, put the "Hot Wheels" hood on the car!!!

Thanks I approved this message.

this prototype; i like it a lot!! mean machine, it's waiting for me to climb in it.
i would love recaro seats.
480 to 525 hp, keep the flat black hood
combo 1;mg9, zl1 brakes/susp/diff etc..would be prefered.

I think this would be a great buy. Some could say it's the blue collar Hot rod!!!

1) 1SS; 2) 1LS Trim; 3) LS7; 4) MG9; 5) 6/4 Brembos; 6) HD 3.73 Diff/Axles; 7) ZL1 Ground Effects/Splitter/Spoiler; 8) Forged 20s with 285/305 F1s; 9) MRC; 10) Dual-Mode Exhaust; 11) Ram Air/Extractor Hood; 12) $42.995

Uh...don't twist my words/wishes...your engine nomenclature, at that price, is FOUR digits off...and so is your price if you want the BIG Kahuna LS7...
