Is anyone worried about the V8?

All of EVERYTHING I have read is about the V6. I understand that it will be powerful for a v6. I understand that it is fun to drive. I understand that gm is working extremely hard to make sure the v6 is not just a small engine thrown in a grown-up car...

But what about the V8? On the flipside of things, I don't want the V8 to be just a bigger engine thrown in a V6 designed vehicle. I don't want the v8 version to handle poorly because everything was designed for a smaller/lighter engine. I can understand why gm would want the v6 to be good, but you also can't forget the camaro roots. This is american muscle. It should be designed for V8 FIRST and then make the v6 as fun to drive as possible.

PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE don't let me down!

I don't have a bad feeling about the V8. I'm just getting dissapointed they haven't snapped pics of the engine bay of one. obviously the ring video it was a V8. I believe both the V8 and V6 will be good cars. can't wait til 2009.

WEll I am just a bit worried because absolutely everything we have seen and heard has been praising the v6 for being god. I am just hoping they are not putting too much effort into that and forgetting their roots.

even if the v6 performs well in the camaro body, the v8 will have a totally different suspension and wheel tire combo to help with the performance. dont be worried , they know what their doing. it's not a mustang!

The truth of the matter, the V6's success is what will determine the entire line's success. The more they hype the V6, the more "average consumers" they attract and it keeps the special models (read: Enthusiast-level cars) rolling out.

Praise the V6, brag about it, and get the word out to all the mid-life crisis moms out there so they all buy them. Then GM can really get greedy with the monster V8 and not lose sales over it.

no, i'm not worried. i'm just thinking about it this way. if the v6 is so bad ass then the v8 is going to be killer.

hey merf, hitchhikers..... is one of my favorite books.
