Apple Car Play - GRAYED-OUT add a device

Hi guys - our local dealer is trying to figure this out - hopefully one of you guys has experience with this. Trying to hook up the phone to the car to use Apple Car Play.

As you can see in the short video - I have the projection icon, the phone is connected in one of the USB ports with an "OFFICIAL" apple cable (no cheap crap from Dollar General).

I go to settings, hit Apple car play, go to manage devices - the next step should be ADD a device - however, you'll see, that option is "GRAYED OUT."

What am I doing wrong here?

Also, your car may not be equiped. Check that you are using the correct usb port also. Also, cheap cables arent supported. Must be belki, apple oem, samsung oem if android etc

The car is equipped -
As reported in post - using a genuine Apple cable
Does it seriously matter which USB port is used? I never thought about trying the other - but WTF ? They'd only make ONE of the two compatible with with Apple Play? Doesn't seem right, but I'll try the other USB port.

Thanks man - I'll give other USB port a shot. Also sent video to the dealer - so far, they're dumbfounded (no surprise).
