I never liked that heel/toe deal and coming off the clutch. Line lock is definitely worth the effort. Don't forget to turn off the nannies.

If it’s running right turn off all the nannies and ease the clutch out. When you’re rolling about 10-15mph leg it. It should get rowdy and spin the rears. A lot.

I don’t have to sit still and dump the clutch if I want to bust the rears loose?

I have to pay attention to not get the rear tires loose even with the nannies on. For daily driver use I try to get reasonable mileage out if the rears.

Second gear will give you much better wheelspeed without all the rpm. At the track in the water box it doesn't take much to get them turning in second with 4.10s - if it was dry it would be much harder and first would probably make the most sense. Little water can really help get things started.

The Rear End

I have heard that the rear end can no handle a burnout without breaking the diff or axles. Which is why i was wondering if it was even possible in these cars.

Wheel hop is what breaks the axles. If it starts, just let off of it so you don't. And those stock Perelli's are good for that!! They suck.

I've had my car for about 8 years and only recently tried to do a burnout. I have a V6 auto with an open diff and stock tires so I never really wanted do show off my cool one wheel peel.

However, last week I was participating in a drag race at a race track and we had to go trough some grass and sand to get to the track and I wanted to clean off the tires before I went down.

I held the brakes and got up to about 1500- 2000 rpm then released the brakes and gave some more throttle, it seemed to work. It made a lot of noise and didn't go forward so I assume it did a burnout!

When I was back in Michigan I met some of the designer and engineers that developed our transmissions and they were pretty sure that we could beat on them and they could take it.

Lol must be an alignment issue on my rears

This time of year is great for doing them. That cold asphalt doesn’t have much grip.

This one was a solid 50+ footer… no brakes at all, just the Nannie’s completely off. I went back to the scene of the crime the next day in my truck haha.
I like sliding it sideways too.

I like a nice one wheel burnout on street radials. Ya know? Get the one nice and gummy and tear track preps up.
