When I got the car the MAF error was around 15% at WOT. Makes you wonder if it had a ported blower on it. I've been working on the tune. It's getting close. Unfortunately not gonna have enough pump for E though. Its already dropping on 93. I was reading that porting the blower/snout and getting a larger TB and intake would be worth the cost, but not without a cam. Not sure I wanna spend $3k to gain 30whp. I think I may just leave it as is and not get greedy.

Well sorry to hear you sold the Camaro but I understand how things go. Whoever bought it got one fine ride!

The owner of my speed shop had a V and about all he added was headers, changed pulleys, and made 10's easily, but his was an auto (a stick making 10's not as easy).

Yea this V is auto as well. The new owner of my camaro is a true street racer. He already has a th400 in it, and will be sending me vids pretty soon. Pretty excited to see what it can do.

How would I look to check the isolator? Pull the snout off?

Damn I might as well have it ported while its off...but that would mean id have to port match it to the blower, and pull that off. It really does never ****ing end.

Just take your belt off the supercharger and quickly spin the pulley back and forth. If i feels like a spring softens the blow when you change directions then it has the factory isolator. If it spins back and forth hard its a solid. its pretty easy to tell. The ctsv superchargers are easy to remove compared to a Camaro, it's wide open in the back. you don't have to deal with the rear cowl.

Ok, I checked just now. When i turn from clockwise to counter clockwise real fast its just like a single rattle or clunk. There is no springy soft feeling. Just a tap when changing directions.

Nice buy

I was looking at getting one a few years ago the prices were really dropping and then the pandemic hit and they gained 10k to 15k overnight.

The cheapest ones are now 45k instead of 30k now and the low milers are in the 70k range up here.

I got this one for $26,600 shipped from Texas. It has 131k on it, and was loaded with problems. I've dropped another $4k fixing shit.

I didnt realize an Automatic could be so fun to drive. it has a trans tune that allows you to put it in manual mode, drop into desired gear (4000rpms) and just peg it. The tune shifts for you in manual mode at a higher mph, This is probably common for you ZL1 guys, but I found that pretty cool.

I think it has the shift buttons on the back of the steering wheel as well.

If you touch the buttons it defaults to them in manual mode so it won't upshift automatically.

I found this out on my Camaro when I hit them by mistake when I drove around the water box and it hit the rev limiter around the 1/8th mile

The 2nd gen. CTS-V is no joke! Never turn your back on one. Congrats. I wouldn't worry too much about the condition as long as it was in general satisfactory. CTSs will have typical gremlins to fix as with the mileage as ZL1s. I believe most things will be even with both cars despite HP ratings. In terms of handling, unless someone knows for sure (I used to know someone with a CTSV), my guess is the ZL1s will be more aggressive in handling around a track. Tires and shock choices can help you in a situation. Good luck.

Yea, if it doesnt have a transmission tune, manual mode will not shift for you. This one already has the trans tune, so when in manual mode, it will shift for me, but at a higher MPH than regular Drive mode. You can find youtube videos on how to tune this yourself. Pretty easy and makes a very noticeable difference over D shift points.

I think I've tackled every single gremlin the Vs have. Including the front LCA problem. The V has a slotted grove in the subframe. So the bolt for the LCA doesnt use a cam type alignment bolt/washer/deal. its full floating, and known for coming loose. 236# torque spec. Crap design. Subframe tabs crack also.

I've driven a stock 2015 ZL1 manual and it felt very light and nimble, compared to this V.

That was the other point I neglected to mention; ZL1s have the sharpest steering I've seen from almost any domestic. It is really amazing!

I couldn't leave it alone. I already had the injector... +DSX FF and 5 degrees of timing.

Are these numbers pretty par for the course for this setup? (minus the spike)
Not sure why he had the dyno set to display mph.

intake, exhaust, injector, 2.55, HX, E85.
