Where ever it ends up being, I think it would be cool to organize some camping. Most tracks allow camping for weekend events. I know in MI Milan, US 131 Martin, Gingerman... all have free trackside camping for weekend events.
Road Atlanta, Watkins Glenn, Elkart Lake, Brainerd... all have nice camping. Would be a fun alternative to the hotel, and a safe place to keep race cars locked down at night. |

I really want to try to make it out this year, but the less notice I have the less chance I can make it happen. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Progress has been made. We're working actively to secure a date.
Unfortunately, can't say much more than that - but I do want to thank those of you who are being patient with us. When we finally let loose on the details, I think everyone will understand why we're being so quiet. |

Somewhere in Michigan where we could take a plant tour of the Lansing Grand River plant and also have a track day at Gingerman where we'd get to drive the new 1LE?
Or perhaps near Bell Isle in Detroit where we could run the Grand Prix track , se GM's world headquarters in the RenCen, A tour of the Warren Tech Center, GM's Heritage Museum, and maybe a trip to see GM's Milford Proving Grounds? |

Suspecting cones will be involved. Bright orange ones, and maybe some Rocky Road. Whatever it is, I'm confident it will be awesome! |

I cannot begin to understand the enormous logistical issues you must have to deal with, to even choose a location for the next Camarofest let alone everything that is part of it from finding hotels near and big enough, to a venue appropriate for our desires, etc, etc. Add all of that to scheduling the whole nightmare considering it's apt to be right in the busy season for everyone. We all have so many events coming up this summer, and trying to pick a date that is compatible with the needs of the venue/hotels, etc, as well as trying to avoid any other major car events.... well, you get the idea. Plus, odds are that no matter what you pick, there will be many that won't like it. If you have it in NH, California won't like it, if you have it in California, Florida won't like it, etc. My hats off you all of you working so hard on this event. THANK YOU! |
