Maryland Speed?

Just ordered a full headers back SW exhaust system from them. Just wondering if anyone had anything to say about them, good or bad.

They have a very good reputation. Next time though, ask this question BEFORE you order.

Very good communication, great to deal with. Only issue I had was they would only ship my packages with a signature required on delivery. Virtually impossible to be here when UPS comes around, so I had to drive 45 minutes twice to pick up my packages.

Besides that, you probably wont find an easier web type store to deal with.

This is a catch 22 for us. If I don't require a signature, and UPS leaves them at the wrong house (happens a lot when no sig is required), or someone steals them from your porch, then it turns into "OMG, you left my several hundred dollar part with no signature and now it is gone!". Then when someone is not home to sign for the part, people get mad at use because going to UPS is a pain.

There are a couple factors here. First off..we don't like requiring a signature. We pay several thosand dollar a year for the extra service, and have to spend customer support time email and redirecting packages for upset customers. That being said, anything over a certain value we normally require a signature on. Also anything going to an address different then the billing will need to be signed for. We also often will add the signature requirement for apartments because most of the lost package issues happen when stuff is left at front offices. Even if we do not require a signature, UPS or Fed Ex may based on the driver's discretion, or if the their system decides your area has had a high instance of lost packages. Fex Ex I know also requires a signature on anything insured over $500. Sometimes with UPS you can sign the call tag and leave it for the driver to leave the package the next day..but this does not always happen.

The overriding factor in all this really has nothing to do with us. All the credit cards have in their policies that the part has to be shipped to the billing address, and there has to be a signature. If you file a chargeback, and we did not do that, we instantly lose the money. This is a common fraud scheme..because people get the stuff..and then claim it never came and tryp and get the credit card to give them their money back via a chargeback. We have been hit with fraud scheme recently and it cost is several thousand dollars. We have been hit with more fraud in the last year than we have in the prior 6 years of being in business combined.

As I said, we make exceptions in some cases based on value..however I think most customers would expect to sign for anything that cost more than a couple hundred dollars. I know I would not want $1000 set of header sitting on my porch.
