I realize I may not always be grammatically correct, but I do make an effort to type a coherent post. It's a pain trying to make it through some posts on here. Some of the hardest to decipher are the 3-4 line run on sentences without any punctuation.

English spelling follows the pronunciation of the word when that word was first printed/written. The spoken forms of English continued to evolve over the centuries whereas the written word was "fixed in time". French is the same way. Spanish is not, due to it not being a written language until much later; the speakers of that tongue wrote in Latin.
