Guess you missed the one where the ZR1 beat the Ford GT at VIR???

Disaster.....so much LOL.

It may have a flaw or two, but far from "disaster".

HELL F'ing YEAH!!!
Couldn't agree more. What we can go buy and drive straight to the track w/o even changing the tires just blows me away. It's a great time to be track rats like some of us here are. and Jeff you are right...the Electrics are coming and we are about to miss the sounds of the monsters we have running around on the street today.

On a side note for anyone in the NorCal area don't miss out on Rennsport Reunion Sept 29th-31th at Laguna Seca. Yes its all Porsches but if you love motorsport and don't hate Pcar's I think you will be blown away at the level of detail and amount of $$$ that a manufacturer puts out there for it's customers. It's a fantastic event and one of the best Motorsports events I have ever attended.

Dodge literally sent a dedicated track team with the ACR Extreme Aero package to setup the suspension an aero specifically for each track over many laps and a bunch of time.

I would hazard to guess/assume that the same could be done with the ZR1 given the identical level of effort and time.

And lastly, completely agreed that it's an amazing time to be into performance cars when showroom stock cars are turning these incredible lap times at tracks all over the world.

GT3's for 2018 start at $143,600. I'd rather have a GT3 any day of the week especially if you consider resale value. I'm plenty of a GM fan, but, the ZR1 resale values will plummet like all of the Vettes, especially once the C8 comes out.

Per the first post, we were talking about the limited difference between the ZL1 1LE M6 and the A8 ZR1's time. That said, what would both run to the Audi Bridge at the 'Ring to take out the long last straight. We know what the Camaros did...

Looks like the car had plenty left, the driver just ran outta talent.

ZR1's competition is not comparably priced... . The ZR1 should have run with/annihilated the Lambo Huracan Performante (not Aventador), 488 and at least run with the GT2RS, 720s and others. It is also a Z06, just pimped. I have owned 3 Vettes (2 Zs) and 2 Vipers. C8 will be worth watching. GT3 btw, always runs around $190k once optioned, etc. and has no torque. GT2RS is much more!

It's nothing to be ashamed that the ZR1 didn't trounce the ACR...it got pretty darn close while being a much more comfortable car.

The ACR is going to be a very tough nut to crack, and even being mentioned in the same breath with it is a huge compliment.

Good point. For the price, the ZR1 is one kickass car and a bargain. Considering the stated quarter and trap differences (Zr1 10.8 at 135 and GT3 around 11.3-11.5 at 125), they're really not in the same league. And the 2019 ZR1 will be even quicker.

People already said the Z06 was too difficult to drive at the limits. I'm not sure why anyone thought throwing more power at it would have made it better.

Someone needs to put an LT5 in a ZL1 1LE and see what it can do. Probably would get too close to the ZR1 for GM's liking.
