C5-Fest Caravan Rally Points Across the US

City: Oklahoma City, OK AND Tulsa, Ok
Meet Location: OKC - Academy on the corner of I-240 and Walker, Tulsa - TBD
Date: 8:00am April 15th 2010
Route of Travel:

Thursday: East on I-40, stop in Conway, AR for gas and then in Little Rock at the McCain Mall for lunch and to meet with some folks from Arkansas. Then hopefully straight through to Birmingham, AL for the night.

Friday: Depart hotel at 7:00am (time could change), stop at Telledaga Speed Way and again at Summit to meet northern group. Will be departing Summit at noon for the rest of the drive. An extra fuel stop may be determined before Summit, check back for details.

Route of Travel: I-35 South to Oklahoma City (Link up with OKC convoy at 9:00 a.m.), East on I-40 thru Little Rock, AR - stopping in
Birmingham, AL for the night and to Valdosta Friday.

As I have stated several times in other threads, we will have almost (not as much, but still a lot) as much fun in the convoy portion of the trip as the event itself. We have 12 so far. I hope we wind up over 20. The more the merrier.

Man I'm still on the fence with the travel direction - it's still a little early to decide and nobody from the KCMO area has chimed in, so we'll see.

At the rate I'm driving my Camaro though mileage won't be a concern come April, I just might take the OKC alternative route.

I'd like to say yes, but I'm not saying no just yet. I am seriously looking into making this trip. I bet we could have large convoy by the time we get to Delaware.

I'm about 2.5hrs from Ject - to the North. I'm right on I-70, so heading straight East and then south past St. Louis is my primary route. I am also looking at saving a couple hundred $$ by utilizing the Military Bases to stay@ out along the way.

The southern route sounds like hella-fun! We'll see...

North Texas C5F Caravan.

(Note : All Times listed are approximated, if I need to adjust the travel times let me know)

Starting Rally point April 15th, 7am - Pennington Field, I will be here to give a land mark at that time. Very large parking lot so there is plenty of room. (Showing up at a few till 8am is fine, so long as we are ready to hit the road)

Get some Breakfast and get ready.

8am - Leave Pennington Field parking lot and head for I20 to Shreveport.

10:30am - Arrive in Shreveport. Check for leg stretch/refreshment/gas stop. Continue to I49 south to Alexandria.

12:30pm - Arrive in Alexandria. Time for a bite to eat! Stretch those legs and take a break. If anyone wants to suggest a good lunch locale where all ears! Depending, get on road again by 2pm.

4pm - Arrive in Lafayette for rendezvous with South Texas C5F Caravan. Suggesting the I10 exit Louisiana Ave. I10 will now be alive with the sound of Horsepower. The combined Texas C5F Caravan continues on to Biloxi. Expected ETA - Biloxi Grand 7pm.
