Eligah Craig was pretty good!

I swung through the local store Friday and grabbed a bottle of Woodford reserve, two bottles of Weller's special rye reserve, and 12 year Jonnie walker.

Still on the hunt for that elusive Blanton's though.

Blanton's is very hard to find but (a much easier to get) Buffalo Trace is the same mash bill from the same rick house. Buffalo Trace might not be a single barrel and the proof is ever so slightly less than Blanton's, but I bet side by side you will not notice the difference. I know I can't tell the difference. I owned a liquor store for about 7 years and had access to a lot of hard to get stuff.

Buffalo Trace is basically the same juice without the hype. You don't get the fancy horse with the letter on it but at about $30 you can actually get something good to enjoy.

My original plan was to get the 12 year, but I decided to test the waters with the 8 year. I didn't want to spend the money on the 12 year, only to find that I hated it. The 8 year is pretty good, a little on dimensional. I may buy another bottle, I'm not sure. I would be interested on your thoughts on the 12 year.
